In November 2017 Digital Innovatin (back then as Kien) was present at the Dare2Cross: Create Value With Big Data event with Niek De Visscher. Dare2Cross: Create Value With Big Data was a connection event organized by the Drechtsteden, which is a collaboration between the Dutch municipalities Alblasserdam, Dordrecht, Hardinxveld-Giessendam, Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, Papendrecht, Sliedrecht, and Zwijndrecht. The goal of the event was to kick-start cross-sectoral collaboration, and it was attended by organizations like the Albert Schweitzer Hospital, Royal IHC, GKN Fokker, and of course Digital Innovation.
Dare2Cross is an approach developed by InnovationQuarter, an organization with the goal to strengthen the regional economy in West Holland, and organized together with the Drechtsteden to encourage cross-sectoral cooperation between organizations that normally would not cross paths.
The theme of the Dare2Cross event on November 14, 2017 was “big data”. At the Dare2Cross: Create Value With Big Data event business professionals, like Digital Innovation’s Niek de Visscher, worked on seven cases that involved real life problems with big data encountered by organisations. Examples of such cases are the use of big data, to prevent hospitalised patients to be moved to the intensive care unit of the Albert Schweitzer Hospital, and the use of data to monitor the condition of pipelines by IRM-SPD. The case contributors met and worked on their real life cases with experts from a range of sectors. The meeting of professionals from different business sectors resulted in out of the box approaches to the presented cases and new insights.
